No Web Without Women is an educational, interactive website that educates users on the achievements, innovations, and inventions of women in STEM who have helped build the internet to what it is today.

From Ada Lovelace’s inception of algorithms to Grace Hopper’s programming to Nicola Pellow’s protocols, it became an educational website in 2020 that is available for educators to teach women in computer science.

IT AINT OK MAMA - INTERACTIVE WEBSITE

ROLE: Creative Producer

Mama is an interactive music video for a song off Johnny Selman’s Rockaway EP. The interactive website allows users to “heal” the typographic manifestations of fire, drought, floods, disease, and the war on the lyrical refrain, “It ain’t okay, mama.”

Partnering with a creative technologist, the website contained five visualizations using es6, React, and SVG with an option to play with the website with the music on or off.

The website then led you to a CTA page for the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a non-government environmental advocacy organization fighting climate change.

The Wilson - BRAND IDENTITY

The Wilson is a New American restaurant by In Good Company Hospitality with a seafood focus in New York City. Our role was to create a brand identity that would provide a simple yet quirky for the coastal bistro in the heart of NoMad.

Level the Field - Brand Identity & Campaign

CLIENT: CHARITY BALL
ROLE: CREATIVE PRODUCER, ASSOCIATE AD

Charity Ball, a soccer charity that provides global soccer charity fueled by kids, fans, and athletes who believe that giving back and playing for something bigger can make the world more beautiful. Their mission included bringing drinking water to historically underrecognized communities in Africa

After discovering our 2017 World Cup illustration project, CB asked Selman to create a Campaign for “Level The Field”, a campaign to increase equity and level the soccer playing field for girls around the world.

Equalizer Match Soccer Ball - Partnership with Selman, Contential Tire & Charity Ball
In addition to the campaign, we created the Equalizer Match Ball, a soccer ball with black & white panels boasting various expressions of Level the Field with 100% going to the campaign.

Decide & Act - Branding & Watch Design

Role: Creative Producer

Former Victorinox Swiss Army Watch CEO Alexander Bennouna, with Martin Riemer, product specialist for brands like Rolex, Cartier,
founded Decide And Act in 2020, bringing sustainability, transparency, and responsibility to the legacy of Swiss watch manufacturing.

Selman designed three reversible watchbands set to print on cactus leather. The minimal illustrations focused on peace, ecology, and diversity for their Original Collection, which committed 10% of all purchases to a cause of the buyer’s choice. Watch the case designed by Atelier Oi in Switzerland.

STUDIO INITIATIVES - Women’s HISTORY MONTH: Women In Music - Campaign & Print

ABOUT
In 2017, I pitched Selman the Women's History Month annual studio initiative, where we built themes about women in Arts, STEAM, and Global Leaders. Our 2018 theme celebrated twenty-one women artists by creating a series of colorful icons selected by the studio, including artists such as Alicia Keys, Nina Simone, Beyonce, etc. The illustration combines two recognizable objects into a symbolic icon representing the artist's music or persona.

The project culminated in a set of printed cards packaged into a silver embossed paper carrier that emulates a 7-inch record sleeve that doubles as a display stand.

STUDIO INITATIVES - Peace Post

ABOUT

Peace Post, Selman’s longest studio initiative, aims to capture global leaders from every country and collaborate with illustrators and designers to create a portrait of the selected leader in the shape of a postage stamp, an homage to global communication and opening of dialogues.

The process begins by researching each country’s history, artistic styles, and culture brought into each creative asset.

During my tenure, we completed over half of the illustrations (100+!), and developed the Peace Post Website. Since then, Peace Post has been completed and featured in the Peace Museum in Dayton, Ohio.

National Coalition Against Censorship - Brand IDENTITY & CampAIGN

ABOUT
The National Coalition Against Censorship is an NGO promoting freedom of thought, inquiry, and expression, formed in 1973 in response to narrowed First Amendment protections and increased prosecutions.

We created a new visual identity by channeling the boldness of their mission and playing with the symbolism of the censor bar to expose what is often covered up.

The NCAC’s new brand was featured on time for their NCAC fundraising event in 2018, featuring the theme of Uncensored
